Location Description Swords

Well-known, picturesque town 2 km from the sea, on a river, 168 km south from Belfast, 165 km north-east from Waterford. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort. Known also by its Irish name "Baile Atha Cliath" (Town of the Hurdle Ford), Ireland's capital is the heart of the "Celtic Tiger" economy. Situated on the east coast of Ireland, it is divided into North and South by the River Liffey. Dublin city, the home of James Joyce and poet Oliver St. John Gogarty, holds a legendary Irish charm and bestows warm conversations. The centre is small but holds many attractions from medieval architecture to bustling shopping, eating and entertainmentoptions and also a choice of two fine relaxation areas, Parnell Square (north of the river) and St Stephen's Green (south of the river). Transport : The City Centre is very easily covered on foot, however, there is no lack of buses serving the busy streets. Taxis are also plentiful (Ranks on O'Connell Street and College Green) and Connelly, Tara and Pearce Street Stations serve North, Centre and South of the river for those wishing to use Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART).
