Holiday home Poland
For many people, Poland is not an obvious holiday destination. Like many former Eastern Bloc countries, it is just a little less known. You will see that beyond Germany is a fascinating country with a very varied history and also vast countryside.
So definitely consider a holiday property in Poland and let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of this wonderful country.
Visit nature in Poland
From your cottage in Poland you have no less than 23 nature parks. You can enjoy all the wonderful nature that the country has to offer.
For example, go hiking in the Narwiansk National Park. This area is called the 'Polish Amazon' with impressive rivers and peatlands. The accompanying Narwek valley is a breeding ground for more than two hundred species of birds. And you can kayak on the Narwek River.
Beautiful castles and palaces
From your accommodation in Poland you can go on trips to the many beautiful monuments. They are silent witnesses of the eventful history of the country with wars and occupations.
You should also take a look at the carefully restored Royal Palace in Warsaw. But also the many medieval fortresses and the castles of the Teutonic Knights are well worth your visit. Just as well you will find in many places beautiful mansions and palaces from the Renaissance period.
Visit Krakow from your holiday house
The historic city of Krakow is great for a short break. Central to the old town is the market square, the Rynek Glowny.
This beautiful square is home to the Town Hall Tower, the Maria Church, the Adalbertkerk and the Lakenhalle. But make no mistake, there is plenty more to visit in this city.
And, once you have seen all the sights, you can settle down on one of the many cosy terraces or restaurants. Or ride through the city in a carriage. Enjoy your holiday in Krakow!
Remnants of the communist and war past
Poland still has many buildings in the social-realistic style. They are located in a country that has very quickly made the transition to a western lifestyle. But that is precisely why it is interesting to look at that history.
Very characteristic is the enormous Palace for Culture and Science in Warsaw. But also the residential blocks on the Marszałkowska in that city and Nowa Huta in Cracow are typical examples of the Stalinist influence.
Also special is a boat trip in Gdansk along the famous shipyards where Lech Wałęsa fought for the establishment of the free trade union Solidarność. Even from the black period before communism, the Second World War, you can still visit some impressive sites.
Among other things, you will experience the poignant contrast between the rich Jewish history of the country and extermination camps such as Auschwitz.
