Location Description San Miniato

150 m a.s.l. >>San Miniato is also known as "La Citta' delle XX Miglia" (20 miles town) because its central position from all the most important towns in Tuscany. It is situated on a hilltop of the Arno Valley, it has many historical monuments. From the fortress, built during the 13th century by order of Federico II, there is a lovely panoramic view of the valley. Small, historical, busy town with 25'000 inhabitants 50 km from the sea, on top of a hill, in a convenient position, 45 km east from Pisa, 45 km west from Firenze. All shops, restaurants etc. in the resort.

Lomamatkamme ajoittui pahaan hellejaksoon. Täysin vahingossa valikoitui tämä muuten upea majoituspaikka emmekä huomanneet, että ilmastointia ei ollut. Nyt oli liian tukalaa olla ilman ilmastointia. Yöt olivat todella kuumia ja huonosti nukutut yöt vaikuttivat koko lomaan. Suosittelenkin paikkaa silloin, kun lämpötila on kohtuullinen.
